The lesson began with a welcome from Mr. Gain. He explained that the Conservation Club is a group of people who really loves nature, and that one of the things we like to do is take hikes outdoors. Sometimes we see animals, but if we don't, we know where they've been and what they're up to by SIGNS that they leave behind. One major sign that they leave is their tracks.
Students then made their own t-shirts by taking rubber tracks painted by the instructors and stamping them onto their shirts. Their were 12 tracks in all, but many of the students decided to add their own track (their handprint) to the design to show how we need to share the earth with animals, and we all live together on the planet..

2010 Wilson Elementary High Interest Day! This year's crew of futre educators knew that the CCC's past activity where students got to design their own t-shirts was a crowd favorite in years past, so they decided to continue the tradition. Everyone did a fantastic job. The 5-K students were amazing!!!!!!!

To show students that sometimes CCC members are able to see more than just tracks, Mr. Gain shared some of the ways that high school students have been able to interact with animals up close. Beavers, wolves, birds, deer, and bear are all animals that have been studied by the CCC. Pretty cool stuff!
