WOOD FROG
Rana sylvatica (1.5 - 2.5 inches)

The belly is pinkish-tan, and there is a dark "mask" across the face.  Also there is a white line across the upper lip.

Habitat - moist forests and large woods

Status in Wisconsin - common & increasing
The call of the wood frog is oftentimes compared to the quacking of a duck.

Breeding season: Just after frost-out for only about 2 weeks
