BULLFROG
Rana catesbeiana (5.5 - 7.0 inches)

Ranges in color from a dark solid olive to a light pale green.  Has a fold of skin that wraps around the typpanum

Habitat - Bullfrogs need permanent water sources like lakes to survive.

Status in Wisconsin - locally common but rarely abundant.
The bullfrog vocalization is a loud, deep, repetitive "jug-o-rum" that carries well.

Breeding season: Early June - Late July
